Recap:
Moore who has pitched in Midland, Kane County and now Stockton started the game.
He gave up 3 runs all in the second, where he certainly didn't help his cause.
The inning started with a single to left. The next batter is called out on strikes.
Next batter singles to left. Moore then throws a WP and both runners move up 90
feet. After the WP the batter singles and runner on 3rd scores, runner on second
advances to 3rd. Moore throws another WP, runner on 3rd scores, runner on second
advances. A double scores the running on 3rd and that's how the Nuts scored their
first 3 runs. They wouldn't score until the 9th where the Nuts once again helped
by the Ports. Heuser walks the lead off hitter, the runner advances on a failed PO
attempt, and by that time was there any doubt he'd end up scoring the winning run?
Nope, I guess that's just baseball as the Ports fell 4-3 to Modesto.

Carter hit his 30th homerun... man if he can ever get his glove work straigtened out
he could be the answer to the A's 3rd base woes. But until that happens, he'll be in
line for the DH spot. Spencer hit his 6th since coming over in the Blanton trade.
Donaldson hit a triple! Cardenas was promoted to Midland.

Capra was the hard-luck loser as the Cougs lost 5-1 to Beloit. He went 6
innings and allowed 2 runs, while K'ing 4 and walking 2. He was relieved by
Hodsdon and Kerfoot. Looks like Hodsdon maybe have been demoted to the bullpen.
He threw 2 scoreless innings. Kerfoot had his first real struggle, facing
8 batters and surrendering 3 runs, 2 earned and 4 hits and a homer in 1 IP.

Richard continues to hit well, but his fielding is what I'd imagine is holding
him back from a promotion to Stockton. Hollingsworth scored the only run. Cobb
and Dowling each had one hit.

Cobb committed his 14th error of the season.

Recap:
Hart continues to pitch well in limited doses. Throwing 4
scorelss innings, he allowed 2 hits, no runs while striking
out 3 and walking one. He was relieved by Gomez, Fitts,
Thomas and Guzman. Thomas had the blown save and got the loss
allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits in 1 IP. Guzman had an
outing I'm sure he'd rather forget, givning up 5 runs, 3
earned on 4 hits in 1 IP as they lost 9-3 to Everett.

Another game, another homerless drought. Barfield went 2/4
with a double. Christian went 4/1 continues to be the only
other player beside Luis with a BA over .300.

Recap:
Gissell, I guess making a spot start had a quality one. He sprayed 6
hits, but only 2 runs, with 3 strikes and no balls over 5 IP. Shafter
threw 1.2 scoreless innings. Wing allowed 2 hits and one earned with 2
K's and 2 BB over 1 inning. Gray pitched 1.1 scoreless innings as
the Rivercats crushed Memphsis 11-3.

The Rivercats swung some lumber as Patterson, Knoedler, Conrad and Murton all
homered. Murphy, Murton and Conrad also all hits triples and Bankston hit a
double. Over all the Cats had 16 hits and worked 3 walks.

An update on the Buck situation. The beat writer for the SacBee said he was
DL'd due to issues related to his concession. Slusser had since written that
he has been DL'd due to an inner ear problem. No word if the two problems are
related or if the A's are just pumping out different information to different
beat writers.

2 scoreless innings. Carignan pitched the 9th and earned his 19th save.

The Hounds rallied for 3 in the 8th as with one out Herrera doubles. Sellers
follows with a walk. Cunningham singles to right loading the bases. Everidge
hits a sacfly scoring Herrera. Doolittle singles on a soft line drive to left
scoring Sellers. Zeringue (Midland's player of the week) singles to center,
Cunningham scores. Morris grounds out to end the innings.

The Canadians scored a few more runs (4) but still in a losing effort.
Either by design or result the starting pitcher had a short outing.
Figueroa went 4.1, surrendering 4 runs, 3 earned, while striking out
5 and walking 2. He was relieved by Gomez, Tejeda. Smalley and Tacker.
Only Tejeda and Tacker had scoreless sets.
