Cahill picked up the win for USA baseball in a warm up game before the Olympics. He worked four scoreless innings as USA beat Canada 7-2.
Robert Swindle, the Phillies reliever has been promoted to AAA where's he's struggled just a little. Giving up 7 runs in 29 innings his era has "ballooned" to 2.17. He pretty much can get either righties or lefties out, and still making hitters work for their runs. K'ing 40 and only walking 6. Though he will give up hits, 27 in 23 games. He's sort of a fun guy to watch, at least he is for me.

Recap:
The Hounds scored 3 in the first and that was all they needed to win
their 10th game in a row. Simmons went 6.1, surrounding 2 runs, while
giving up 7 hits, striking out 3 and walking 2. Simmons seems to give
up hits, but has the ability to get out of jams. Lansford pitching the final
2.2 innings earning his second save of the season. I guess Jared is the new
closer.
.
Martinez hit a the only homer of the game. Herrera continues to show improvement.
If he can comeback and contribute, it would be a big boost to the A's farm system.
He went 2 for 3, scoring 2 with a walk and a strikeout. Cunningham also went 2/3
scoring 2 with a double along with a walk and a strikeout. Doolittle had a double
and 2 rbi's.
.
>>Tommy Everidge received the Texas League Player of the Week award for July 27th -
August 2nd. Everidge helped lead the RockHounds to a perfect 7-0 record with 11
RBI's a pair of homeruns and a .469 batting average. Tommy Everidge's feat is
even more remarkable, since he has been thrusted into playing third base for most
of the week due to a shortened roster.<< .
And for rumvee (if you're reading this) Brett Wallace was the Midwest League player

429 (12-28), 6 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 1 BB, 6 SO, 2 SB, .714 SLG
