Borrell had a dandy night also (my favorite word apparently). He threw 6
innings, sturck out 7 and walked 2 allowing only one run as the Cats beat
Oklahoma 5-2. Gray pitched an inning and got the hold, hard throwing Blevins
threw 2, allowed a run, struck out 2 and got his 4th save. Buck was back in the
line-up after sitting during the second game of yesterday's doubleheader and he
finally broke out. He had 3 hits, including a homer, 4 rbi's and scored a run.
Melilo had one hit and one rbi. Baisley and Petit both had 1 hit and scored
2 runs. Powell had a hit. Both Gargo and Powell had throwing errors.

Webb also had a dandy night. He went 7 innings allowing only 1 earned run, the
defense let him down as total runs scored was 2. He struck out 3 and walked
2 while throwing 100 pitches, 61 for strikes. I can only assume by the 3 K's
his *stuff* wasn't overpowering, but he kept the batters off balance as 18
of the outs recored were ground outs. The Rockhounds beat San Antonio 9-3. When
you score 9 runs there's usually lots of heros so lets begin. Donovan in the lead
off spot scored a run, got a hit and drove in two, Pennington scored and walked,
Cunningham had a single and hit his first homer of the season, while driving in two.

Zeringue DH'd and scored... but I'm not sure how. He had no hits or BB, must have
reached on an error. Recker had an rbi on two hits and scored two. Everidge hit
his seventh! homer, drove in two and scored a run. And finally Massaro had two hits,
scored a run and drove in one. The boys in Midland need to be a bit more patient as
overall they walked but twice, but k'd 6 times.

Stockton's game just ended so overall stats haven't been updated, however the
boxscore is available.

Wow. What can you say about Cahill? Dandy, dandy night! He pitched 6 innings,
struck out 8 and walked 3 allowing one earned run. Leon, who is only 19!, pitched
two scoreless and got the hold, Demel had a perfect 9th, struck out 2 and notched
his 3rd save, as the Ports beat Bakersfield 4-1. If I had one gripe looking at
the box is that the Ports had 11 hits and only converted them to 4 hits. And
yes I realize how that sounds, some people are never happy! :) Anyway to the
boys swinging the lumber... Mitchell scored a run, walked and got a hit, Horton
hit a double and walked, Doolittle had 2 rbi's and hit his 9th homer of the young
season. Carter had a double, Morris walked and singled and Slu hit a homer, scored
and drove in two.

Richmond had a dandy night, throwing 5.2 innings of shut out ball, while
striking out 5 and walking 1. Friend pitched in relief and finished the
game for his 3rd save as the Cougars beat the Quad City Bandits 4-1. The
Cougars only had five hits but apparently made the most of them. Ray and
Smith both had triples. Fosse would be proud since Smith is the catcher..

Btw I failed to mention that in last night's game Italiano and Moore combined to
strikeout 14 hitters... I *heart* Italiano!
